EASTER SUNDAY

Many have got major hangovers having been out till dawn!!! Others are up early putting their whole kid (goat) or little lamb on to the spit to roast. Today is a major day for celebrating and enjoying meat. Whether it's roasted on the spit outside in the garden, the country, or if it's been cooked slowly in a special clay oven stuffed with rice and liver. Food glorious food....also salted pork, pigs trotters in jelly are very popular, and meat wrapped with the intestines! Mmmmm!!!

The red eggs are used as table decorations and then as a game. You have to crush your opponent eggs (it's a good idea to put them in the freezer for a little while first!). Potatoes with lemon and oregano, cheese pies and salads of all kind too. The list is endless, pastries filled with nuts and honey are popular too.

There are wonderful aromas from each house, garden as you pass. Music playing, and people having a lovely time.

We have been very lucky with the weather, a really beautiful day. We've eaten caught the sun, and are slightly pink. We grilled a selection of different meat and poultry on the BBQ, and sat outside most of the day. We almost had a whole chicken, with feathers, as Charlie got a bit over excited, even though he had already eaten all the left overs! Good job the farmer wasn't anywhere near! A long walk after lunch was needed, the children roller bladed/skated, to return home to eat yet more chocolate (that the Easter Bunny brought from England), and souffles and ice-cream.

I really don't think i could face any more food for tonight, and all that fresh air and sun, I'm already ready for bed!
